The problem of road and footpath surface defects, such as potholes and crazing, has grown by 70% in the last 10 years. This is largely due to the failure of traditional road repair methodology to evolve with modern road use. However, the issues to be resolved go beyond merely mending today’s road defects. No longer is it acceptable for authorities to take care of repairs in the quickest and cheapest way possible, 
using the traditional methodologies with which the general public and road users are increasingly uncomfortable.
